The Committee plays a central role in developing and promoting standards for gastroenterology across the UK. Why this role matters
As Chair, you will:
- Shape the direction of clinical standards and quality improvement
- Influence guidance and frameworks used across the UK
- Work alongside leading clinicians and multidisciplinary experts
- Contribute to the Society’s wider strategic priorities and be part of the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø Executive
This is a strategic leadership role, focused on setting direction and enabling others, rather than managing day-to-day delivery.

The role will benefit from a new Deputy Chair who has recently been appointed, and has the help of:
- A well-established and engaged Committee
- Dedicated support from the ÌÇÐĹÙÍø team for coordination and delivery
